Undergraduate Programs

The Department of English and Film Studies is one of the largest teaching departments at the University of Alberta and has one of the most respected English programs in North America. The Department offers a full range of degree programs in English Literature, Writing, and Film Studies.

At the undergraduate level, students may take:

•      a B.A. Honors Degree in English,
•      a Combined Honors Degree in English and Creative Writing,
           or English and another discipline,
           or Creative Writing and another discipline,
•      a B.A. Degree with Major or Minor Concentration in English or Film Studies,
•      a B.A. Degree with Minor Concentration in Writing.

We also offer a world-class graduate program in English at both the MA and PhD levels.
